Brooklyn Bridge Forbidden Locks Pictures
Brooklyn Bridge Forbidden Locks pictures I took during one of my NYC Moments walks across the Brooklyn Bridge. Have you ever walked over this bridge? The Brooklyn Bridge is one of the most popular bridges in the world. Walk over while drinking your favorite specialty coffee or tea.
Well, you may have heard that people have been attaching padlocks to the Brooklyn Bridge as a symbol of their love for years now. But did you know that these locks have actually been causing damage to the bridge?
That’s why the locks have been banned since 2016, and why they are now known as “forbidden locks.” The weight of the locks can cause the bridge’s cables to stretch, which can weaken the entire structure. And with over 10,000 locks at one point, you can imagine how much strain that would put on the bridge!
It’s a shame that something meant to be a symbol of love has caused harm to such an iconic structure. But the good news is that there are plenty of other ways to show your love and appreciation for the Brooklyn Bridge – like taking a romantic walk across it at sunset, or simply admiring its beautiful architecture from afar.

Face Masks in New York City
Face masks in New York City have become a fashion during quarantine times. Most people use face masks when going to the market or at crowded places. As a New Yorker, I never thought I would see the day where face masks became a ubiquitous sight on the streets of the city. However, when the pandemic hit, it quickly became apparent that wearing a mask was crucial in preventing the spread of COVID-19. I remember feeling a bit self-conscious the first time I donned a mask in public, but as I saw more and more people wearing them, it became…
New York City Chelsea During the Pandemic
NYC seems empty, but still beautiful. Many people walk keeping their distance. Delivery guys on bikes work hard to deliver food directly from local markets in NYC. While walking in New York City Chelsea and having a great cup of Latin America coffee I decided to document the street life during the pandemic of 2020. Chelsea is one of the most vibrant and dynamic neighborhoods in New York City, but like everywhere else, it was deeply impacted by the pandemic. Despite the challenges, however, there were still many moments of beauty and resilience in the neighborhood during this difficult time.…
Quarantine Times Street Photography
At quarantine times when things look a little different in a city that never sleeps. These NYC Moments are historic and I share them without the intent to cause panic. My intention with this ‘Quarantine Times Street Photography’ is for you to get to know New York City more and to inspire you to visit NYC someday in the near future.
Quarantine Times Street Photography in NYC was an incredibly unique and challenging experience. The pandemic brought about unprecedented changes to the city, from the near-empty streets to the masks worn by almost everyone. As a photographer, it was both daunting and exhilarating to try to capture these moments of history through the lens of a camera.
One of the most striking things about Quarantine Times Street Photography in NYC was the emptiness of the streets. With many businesses shuttered and people staying indoors, the once-bustling sidewalks were eerily quiet. As a photographer, this presented both challenges and opportunities. On the one hand, it was difficult to capture the energy and vitality that’s typically present in street photography. But on the other hand, the emptiness of the streets created a stark and haunting beauty that was unique to this moment in time.
Another challenge of Quarantine Times Street Photography in NYC was the masks worn by almost everyone. While masks were necessary to prevent the spread of the virus, they also created a visual barrier that made it difficult to connect with people and capture their emotions. But again, this also presented opportunities for creative photography, as the masks themselves became a symbol of the pandemic and a powerful visual reminder of the difficult times we were living through.
Despite the challenges, Quarantine Times Street Photography in NYC was also incredibly rewarding. As a photographer, it was a chance to capture a moment of history and to document the resilience and strength of the city and its people. From the makeshift memorials honoring essential workers to the acts of kindness and solidarity among neighbors, there were countless moments of beauty and humanity to be found in the midst of the pandemic.
In the end, Quarantine Times Street Photography in NYC was a reminder of the power of photography to capture not just the moments of beauty and joy, but also the difficult times and struggles that we all face. It was a chance to bear witness to history and to connect with others through the universal language of visual storytelling. And as the city continues to recover and rebuild in the wake of the pandemic, these images serve as a powerful testament to the resilience and strength of New Yorkers.
The best way to get to know NYC is to walk around maybe holding a ‘to-go’ cup of coffee in your hand and start exploring the city.
